About Us
An all female board of women in leadership positions in a small conservative town, trailblazing with compassion, dignity, belonging with and for people who use drugs.
A united family of neighbours who give their time to others to ensure basic needs are met.
We are a proactive and persistent group in St Thomas who are focusing on building trusting relationships with those living housing deprived, living with complex mental health needs and addictions. We are a community based, peer lead harm reduction group offering proactive boots on the ground. We have a static location at 572 Talbot Street that is open 6 days a week (closed Mondays) from 6:30pm-8:30pm where we offer the above services plus access to washrooms, phone, hot water, nursing care once a week on Thursdays, and more.
We started as a very small group of concerned community members, in response to some very harmful comments on social media. We started a clean up team first, then continued into community engagement meetings, to what we are now. We have a growing team of 20 volunteers who show up for free to ensure our doors are open. We are seeking the assistance of interested individuals who would like to join in the initiative, those interested in education, and donations. We have a list on our Facebook page of donations needed and information so you can keep up to date. Additionally we are looking for help with sharing the posts for a further reach, partners, assistance with rent payments and fundraising.
